چکیده

We study the effects of symmetry-breaking perturbations in out-of-equilibrium quantum dynamics many-body systems slowly driven by a time-dependent symmetry-preserving parameter, across critical regime associated with continuous transition (CQT). For this purpose, we analyze arising from generalized Kibble-Zurek (KZ) protocols, within dynamic renormalization-group framework allowing for finite-size systems. show that time dependence generic observables develops an scaling (FSS) behavior, interplay between timescale ${t}_{s}$ parameter variations KZ protocol, size $L$ system, and strength $h$ perturbation, limit large $L$. Moreover, arguments based on first-order adiabatic approximation slow allow us to characterize approach regimes some limits model parameters (for example, when take ${t}_{s}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\infty}$ before $L\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\infty}$), predicting asymptotic power-law suppressions nonadiabatic behaviors limits. This FSS is supported numerical analyses paradigmatic Ising chain along transverse field crossing its CQT, presence static longitudinal breaking ${\mathbb{Z}}_{2}$ symmetry.

Effects Induced by the Initial Condition in the Quantum Kibble-Zurek Scaling for Changing the Symmetry-Breaking Field

The Kibble–Zurek scaling describes the driven critical dynamics starting with an equilibrium state far away from the critical point. Recently, it has been shown that scaling behaviors also exist when the fluctuation term changes starting near the critical point. In this case, the relevant initial conditions should be included in the scaling theory as additional scaling variables. Here, we study...

Spontaneous Symmetry Breaking in 2D: Kibble-Zurek Mechanism in Temperature Quenched Colloidal Monolayers

The Kibble-Zurek mechanism describes the formation of topological defects during spontaneous symmetry breaking for quite different systems. Shortly after the big bang, the isotropy of the Higgsfield is broken during the expansion and cooling of the universe. Kibble proposed the formation of monopoles, strings, and membranes in the Higgs field since the phase of the symmetry broken field can not...

Test of finite-size scaling in first order phase transitions

2014 First order transitions are rounded in finite cells or in infinite strips of finite width (cylinders). In this work we have considered the rounding of the jump of the magnetization of an Ising system at a fixed temperature T below Tc when the external field h goes from a small positive, to a small negative value. This rounding is well-known in a finite cell (block geometry) but the situati...

Quantum phase transitions and spontaneous symmetry-breaking in Dicke Model

A method to find the Excited-States Quantum Phase Transitions (ESQPT’s) from paritysymmetry in the Dicke model is studied and presented. This method allows us to stablish a critical energy where ESQPT’s take places, and divides the whole energy spectrum in two regions with different properties.
